Welcome to the St. James Bible in a Year Adventure.

My great hope is that God will transform us as individuals and as a church as we read through the Bible prayerfully, humbly and expectantly in 2010.

American pastor Kent Hughes has written this: ‘You can never have a Christian mind without reading the Scriptures regularly because you cannot be profoundly influenced by that which you do not know.’ By reading through the whole Bible in 2010 we can take deliberate steps along that journey of knowing God through the Scriptures. We can get a firmer grasp of the Bible’s overarching storyline. We can see Jesus against the backdrop of centuries of God’s interactions with his people. And by doing this as a corporate exercise we can encourage and share our insights with each other along the way.

This website is part of that encouragement and sharing. Here you’ll find not only the Bible passages for the week, but also thoughts about the upcoming week’s readings and links to further resources to help you in your reading. Do check out the ‘About’ section for further ideas on how to engage with this adventure.
